Check-in with your spiritual wellness

  • Do you allow yourself time alone?
  • Do you pray? Or reach out to a higher power?
  • Do you think about the meaning of life? Or question life?
  • Do you pause to remind yourself that life isn’t all about you?
  • Do you put down your phone to just be?

Activities to explore spiritual growth

  1. Gardening or planting (simply getting hands in the soil can be spiritual)
  2. Guided meditation (use an app like Headspace if you don’t feel comfortable leading it yourself)
  3. Color a mandala
  4. Gratitude journals to write down three things you are thankful for each day
  5. Practice yoga or tai chi
  6. Practice deep breathing techniques
  7. Set an intention or mantra for the day each morning (I am healthy, my family is safe, I am strong, etc.)
  8. Put a “worry jar” somewhere in your community where residents can write down their worries and leave them in the jar as a sign of letting them go
  9. Host weekly devotionals for residents (don’t worry if you aren’t overly religious, most books will walk you right through it)
  10. Play worship music or concerts
  11. Start a prayer and praise jar where residents can write down their prayer requests or praises
